Polar Bear Plunge

In 2008 and 2009 the members of the Medford Township Police Department
have participated as a team at the Polar Bear Plunge in Wildwood. The
Medford Police team took the plunge with over 3000 other participants
to raise funding and awareness for Special Olympics of New Jersey.
Plunges are sponsored by the Law Enforcement Torch Run, a volunteer
effort by the Law Enforcement community of New Jersey. The Law
Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey was ranked
number two in the world for raising more than $2 million in 2007. In 2008
the Medford Township Police team was the team recognized as having the
Largest number of participants and raising the most money for the cause.
